Eduard Krieger

Eduard Franz Krieger (born 16 December 1946 in Vienna ) is a retired Austrian football player (midfielder ).

Career

The qualified painters and decorators began his career in Simmering, before he moved to an interlude in wagon factory for FK Austria Wien in 1968. There and after 1975 at FC Bruges he celebrated his greatest successes at club level - two times Austrian champion with Austria and three Belgian championship titles from 1976 to 1978 and the Cup victory in 1977 and the two-time participation in the final of the Masters Cup in 1977 and 1978 under Ernst Happel. In 1983 he finished his professional career at LASK.

Warriors played a total of 25 times for the Austrian national team - his debut was on April 8, 1970 against Yugoslavia (1-1). His greatest success warriors called the 3-2 victory over Germany in the 1978 World Cup, after all, he was also prominently involved in all three goals of his team. Even he never scored a goal for the national team.

After his career he could realize his dream of owning a cafe initially, but later suffered financially shipwrecked and had in the meantime to earn his living as a Viennese fruit and vegetable sellers. With success, he was also active as a trainer in the depths of the Viennese football at clubs such as Ajax and Victoria.
