Eduardo Gurbindo

Eduardo Gurbindo Martínez ( born November 8, 1987 in Pamplona ) is a Spanish handball player.

The 1.94 meter tall and 88 kilogram right back player stood from 2009 to 2012 from BM Valladolid under contract; previously he played in Portland San Antonio (2003-2008) and BM Torrevieja ( 2008-2009). With San Antonio and Valladolid he played in the EHF Champions League (2004/2005, 2005/2006, 2006/2007, 2009/2010). In summer 2012, he signed a contract with FC Barcelona, with whom he won the championship in 2013 and reached the EHF Champions League final.

Eduardo Gurbindo stood several times in the squad of the Spanish national team, as at the European Championships in 2010 and the 2011 World Championships, where he won the bronze medal. At the European Championship 2012, he was fourth. In summer 2012, he participated in the Olympic Games in London, finishing in seventh place. Ironically, at the World Championships in 2013 in his own country he was not in the squad, as Spain became world champions. A year later he won the bronze medal at the European Championships 2014 in Denmark. Until January 2014, he played 66 international matches in which he threw 86 goals.
