Eduardo Souto de Moura

Eduardo Souto de Moura Machado Elísio, also briefly Souto Moura ( born July 25, 1952 in Porto ) is a Portuguese architect.

He is considered one of the most prominent representatives of contemporary Portuguese architecture from the ranks of the Escola do Porto. For his life's work, he holds the 2011 Pritzker Prize, the most important architectural prize awarded.

Life

During his architectural studies at the " Escola Superior de Belas Artes do Porto " ( ESBAP ), a division of Faculdade de Arquitectura da Universidade do Porto ( FAUP ), Souto de Moura studied with the renowned architect Fernando Távora and Álvaro Siza Vieira. Work
