Edward Daniel Clarke

Edward Daniel Clarke ( born June 5, 1769 in Willingdon, Sussex, † March 9, 1822 in London ) was an English mineralogist and naturalist. His botanical author abbreviation is " EDClarke ".

When traveling through England (1791 ), Italy ( 1792 and 1794), Scandinavia, Finland, Russia, Siberia, Asia Minor and Greece ( 1799-1802 ) he collected minerals, manuscripts, coins and sculptures.

Clarke in 1808 professor of mineralogy at the University of Cambridge. In 1819 he was among the founders of the Cambridge Philosophical Society.
