Edward, Duke of Guelders

Edward, Duke of Gelre (* March 12, 1336; † August 24, 1371 in Baesweiler ) was from 1361 until his death Duke of funds.

He was the younger son of Rainald II from his second marriage with Eleanor, daughter of King Edward II

Supported by his mother, he led from 1350 a civil war against his older brother Rainald III. and took this caught in 1361 at the Battle of Tiel.

Edward came in the Battle of Baesweiler died and was buried in Graefenthal monastery. His brother was reinstated as regent.
