Edward Fender

Edward Piotr Fender ( born August 8, 1942 in Bielsko ) was a Polish luger, who began in the 1960s in international competitions.

Career

Fender won at the Polish Championships in 1960 with his partner Jerzy Wojnar his first national title. Three years later he won jointly with Mieczysław Pawełkiewicz the silver medal in the doubles competition at the Luge World Cup in 1963 in Imst. At the Olympic Winter Games in 1964 in Innsbruck, the pair finished sixth. In individual competition, he had already left in passage one. A little later he won his second championship title together with Polish Mieczysław Pawełkiewicz.

After the end of his active career Fender worked as a coach. So he oversaw from 1978 to 1983 the national team in tobogganing.
