Edward Gottlieb

Edward Gottlieb ( born September 15, 1898 in Kiev, Ukraine, † December 7, 1979 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA ), called " the Mogul ", was one of the founding fathers of the BAA, the predecessor league in the NBA.

He was also founder and owner of the Philadelphia Warriors until 1962, now Golden State Warriors. As promoters (English: contributor ), he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on April 20, 1972.

Gottlieb's parents had emigrated around the turn of the century because of their Jewish faith in the United States.
