Edward J. Elsaesser

Edward Julius Elsaesser ( born March 10, 1904 in Buffalo, New York, † January 7, 1983 in Williamsville, New York ) was an American politician. Between 1945 and 1949 he represented the State of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Elsaesser Edward attended the public schools of his home. After a subsequent law studies at the University of Buffalo and his 1927 was admitted to the bar he began to work in Buffalo in this profession. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Republican Party launched a political career. Between 1937 and 1945 he was a member of the State Board of his party. In the congressional elections of 1944 Elsaesser was the 43rd electoral district of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Daniel A. Reed on January 3, 1945. After a re-election he was able to complete in Congress until January 3, 1949 two legislative sessions. In this time, the end of the Second World War and the beginning of the Cold War fell.

In 1948, Edward Elsaesser was not re-elected; In 1950, he unsuccessfully sought the nomination of his party for the congressional elections of this year. After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives, he practiced as a lawyer again. He died on January 7, 1983 in his last place of residence Williamsville, where he was also buried.
