Edward Salwey

Edward Salwey (* 1603; ? † ) was an English politician.

Life

Salwey Edward was a son of Humphrey Salwey and his wife Anne, the second daughter of Edward Littleton. He had four brothers, including Richard Salwey, and three sisters. He attended Brasenose College, University of Oxford. 1635 he was admitted to the Inner Temple. From January 1659 to April 1659 he was a member of the House of Commons for the electoral district of Droitwich.

Salwey was married to Dorothy Dryden, the third daughter of Sir Erasmus Dryden, 1st Baronet. The marriage produced a son and three daughters were born. His daughter Elizabeth married the lawyer and politician Francis Winnington. Several descendants of this compound, starting with Salweys grandson Edward Jeffreys, represented in the next two centuries also the constituency of Droitwich.
