Edward Thomas Noonan

Edward Thomas Noonan ( born October 23, 1861 in Macomb, McDonough County, Illinois, † December 19, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois ) was an American politician. Between 1899 and 1901 he represented the state of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

After studying law in Chicago and his 1882 was admitted as an attorney Edward Noonan started working in this profession. In the meantime he studied until 1883, also at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Democratic Party launched a political career. Between 1890 and 1894 he was in the Illinois Senate. From 1893 to 1897 he was part of the senior staff of the Governor. He was also legal adviser to the Committee of the Park Commissioner for West Chicago ( West Chicago Board of Park Commissioners ). In the years 1894 and 1896, he ran unsuccessfully for Congress in each case still.

In the congressional elections of 1898 Noonan was but then in the fifth electoral district of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Republican George E. White on March 4, 1899. Since he resigned in 1900 to another candidacy, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until March 3, 1901.

After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives Edward Noonan practiced law in Chicago, where he died on 19 December 1923.
