Edward Turner Bennett
Edward Turner Bennett ( born January 6, 1797 in Hackney, London, † August 21 1836 in London) was an English physician, zoologist and writer.
Life
Bennett's true passion besides his profession as a doctor was zoology. In 1822, he supported the creation of a entomological club in England. This was developed in conjunction with the Linnean Society of London to a zoological association which represented the starting point of the Zoological Society of London, whose secretary he was from 1831 until his death in 1836.
