Edward V. Robertson

Edward Vivian Robertson ( born May 27, 1881 in Cardiff, United Kingdom, † April 15, 1963 in Pendleton, Oregon ) was an American politician of Welsh origin. He represented the state of Wyoming in the U.S. Senate.

Edward Robertson attended the schools of his home before he reported for duty in 1899 in the Welsh regiment of the British Army. He belonged to the 3rd Battalion and was salvaged in 1899 from 1902 in the Second Boer War. After returning from South Africa, he worked from 1902 to 1912 as a mechanic and electrical engineer.

In 1912, Robertson then migrated to the United States, where he settled in Wyoming in Park County. There he was active in the next 30 years in cattle as well as a merchant in the town of Cody. He proposed a political career to fall late. In 1942 he was elected for the Republican Party in the U.S. Senate, where he prevailed against the Democratic incumbent Henry H. Schwartz. In 1948 he stand for re- election, but was defeated by Democrat Lester C. Hunt, boosting his time in the Senate ended on January 3, 1949.

Robertson retired after back from public life. In 1958 he moved to Oregon, where he died five years thereafter.
