Life

Whitacre career began in 1963 at Southwestern Bell. In 1988, he became president of the Regional Bell Operating Company. As CEO of AT & T, the successor company of Bell, Whitacre Resigns; he gets $ 158 million settlement. In 2009, he is following the resignation of Frederick Henderson CEO of General Motors; 2011 followed him Daniel Akerson as CEO of General Motors.
