Edwards County (Kansas)

Edwards County is a county located in the state of Kansas in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Kinsley.

Geography

The County is located just southwest of the geographic center of Kansas and has an area of 1611 square kilometers without significant water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Pawnee County, Stafford County, Pratt County, Kiowa County, Ford County and Hodgeman County.

History

Edwards County was formed on March 7, 1874 parts of Kiowa County. It was named after John H. Edwards, an American politician.
