Edwin L. Marin

Edwin L. Marin ( born February 21, 1899 in Jersey City, New Jersey; † May 2, 1951 in Los Angeles ) was an American film director.

Marin began his film work in 1919 as a camera assistant. In 1932 he made ​​his debut as a film director with the film Kiss of Death. Bela Lugosi played a starring role. For MGM, he turned in the 1930s, numerous B-movies. Six films he made alone with Reginald Owen in the lead role. From 1941 he worked as a freelance director for Universal Studios and RKO. He established himself as a Western and Crime Film Director. He turned especially with Randolph Scott and George Raft in the lead roles. Between 1932 and 1951 Marin turned over 50 films.

Edwin L. Marin was married from 1940 until his death in 1951 with the actress Ann Morriss. They had three children.
