Edwin McCain

Edwin McCain ( born January 20, 1970 in Greenville, South Carolina) is an American singer-songwriter and musician. He plays alternative rock with influences from jazz and soul.

Personal

McCain was adopted as an infant. He is married and has two biological sons with his wife and an adopted child.

Career

His first publication, Nomadic Logic, appeared in 1991 by an independent label. In 1995 he signed with Atlantic Records signed a contract for four albums. The label released in 1995 his debut album, Honor Among Thieves. The single release of the second album I'll Be Misguided Rose reached the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100 after two more albums to Atlantic and McCain split due to musical differences, because the record company of McCain expected pop ballads, but this is not his musical ideas corresponded. McCain was taken from ATC under contract and published in 2003 an album of acoustic versions under the title The Austin Sessions. Then again changed the label and released more albums with Vanguard and Time / Life Music.

McCain plays many concerts, sometimes more than 300 per year. He is accompanied by a solid band, consisting of guitarist Larry Chaney and Pete Riley, saxophonist and keyboard player Craig Shields, bassist Jason Pomar and drummer Tez Sherrard.
