Edwin Nelson (politician)

Edwin Nelson ( born September 28, 1881 in Denver, Colorado, † September 19, 1961 in Grangeville, Idaho ) was an American politician. Between 1943 and 1945 he was Deputy Governor of the State of Idaho.

Career

Edwin Nelson initially grew up in Denver and then lived on the ranch of his parents in Grangeville. There he attended the public schools. Later, he began a business career. For 30 years he was a board member of Union Warehouse and Supply Co. in Grangeville. He also belonged to the Board of the Association North Pacific Grain Growers. In Grangeville, he was a member of several clubs and organizations.

Politically, Nelson joined the Republican Party. Since 1924 he was a member of the Senate of Idaho for three legislative sessions. In 1942 he was elected to the side of CA Bottolfsen for lieutenant governor of his state. This post he held between 4 January 1943 and 1 January 1945. Yet he was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate. He died on September 19, 1961 in Grangeville. Since 23 December 1903, he was married to Hattie tens.
