Efflux (microbiology)

Efflux pump is an obsolete name for membrane ATPases and membrane transporters (carriers), move the molecules out of the cell. These proteins are found in all living things. You are responsible among others for the antibiotic resistance of bacteria and resistance of fungi to antifungal agents.
