Efraim Gur

Efraim Gur (Hebrew אפרים גור, born September 1, 1955 in Kulaschi in the province of Imereti, Georgian Soviet Socialist Republic, Soviet Union ) is a former Israeli politician. Gur was Knessetabgeordeter 1988-1996. Moreover, he was Deputy Minister of Communications and Deputy Transport Minister in the 1990s.

Biography

He was born in Ephraim Gorelishvili Kulaschi (Georgian კულაში ) in Imereti region of Georgia one. In 1972 he immigrated to Israel and worked as an insurance agent. He was a member of the Avodah and became secretary of the branch of the party. In the elections in Israel in 1988, he was Member of the Knesset the HaMa'arach. In 1990 he left the party to Ahdut LeMa'an HaSchalom VeHaAlija to establish with and was part of the coalition government led by Yitzhak Shamir 's Likud. He was a candidate for the Deputy Minister of Communications, on July 2, before he was Deputy Minister of Transport on 20 November. Shortly before the 1992 elections brought Gur his party in the Likud and was re-elected. On March 7, 1996 he left Likud. He established for the 1996 elections again a party that Ahdut LeMa'an Hagana imigrant. With this party he was not more successful.
