Efua Sutherland

Efua Theodora Sutherland (* June 27, 1924 in Cape Coast, † January 2, 1996 ) is a native of Ghana written in English writer.

She studied in Mapongo, Cambridge and the London Institute of Oriental and African Studies.

Upon her return to Ghana, she founded the Ghanaian drama studio and later became active in the field of experimental theater. It is one of the most prominent Ghanaian drama writers and is the author of several plays, which act primarily on the current situation in the country. However, they also created works of art using the native mythology, so among other things with the spider Ananse, a traditional fairy tale heroine.
