EG (magazine)

EC is an international journal in English around the chess study ( cf. also endgame study ). The name EC stands for both Endgame and for exempli gratia, which should express the intention to publish the best contemporary studies. From the beginning, it was reported in EC about new findings obtained by the computer chess in the final.

The journal is published quarterly in July 1965. They was launched as a quarterly journal, founded on March 19, 1965 Chess Endgame Study Circle, a loose association of university friends, by John Roycroft, who was editor at the same time up to 102 output. Starting with release 103, the issue in the hands of ARVES with John Roycroft is editor in chief.

In the first issue of the EC explained that a complete collection will take the place of study books over the years. However, a certain degree of analytical skills was necessary for reasons of space from the readers.

Core of EC is the emphasis of all price reports from tournaments study ( composition competitions ) around the world. In addition, regularly releases appear on the detected defects earlier published studies, technical articles, information on tuition composers and meetings, book reviews, new findings from the field to the endgame databases.

From 2007, a ebur the show, the content will be pursued in further EC.

Confiscation

Issue 65, July 1981 was seized in the Soviet Union because it contains on the Title page the beginning of an article of the Jewish emigrants Alexander Herbstman.
