Egedal Municipality

Egedal Kommune is a Danish municipality in the Capital Region in Sjælland.

The municipality is 125.90 km ² and has 42 018 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013).

The 1 January 2007, newly created in the course of municipal reform community is made up of the former Ledøje - Smørum municipality, the municipality and the Ølstykke Stenløse municipality. The seat of the commune administration in the district Stenløse.

Villages in the municipality

The area contains the following parish communities (Danish: Sogn ) and villages with over 200 inhabitants ( byer as defined by the Danish Bureau of Statistics ), with a registered population of zero, the place in the past had more than 200 inhabitants. Since 2010, Danmarks statistics considered the two places Ølystykke and Stenløse as a coherent settlement area.

ASmørumnedre distributed roughly equally on Smørum Sogn Sogn and Måløv in the neighboring municipality of Ballerup and to a lesser extent on the Værløse Sogn in the Furesø municipality.

BSmørumovre had in 2006 still 205 inhabitants, since below 200

Twinning

The existing since 1 July 1990 twinned with the German town of Dassel, originally signed with the Ledøje - Smørum municipality, and the Estonian town of Saue was terminated as of October 2011. Was justified termination of the additional costs that resulted from the municipal reform and the lack of interest of the citizens.
