Egger bei Graz is an Austrian market town with 2128 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in Styria. As part of the municipality of structural reform in Styria it is merged in 2015 with the communities Brodingberg, hard -Purgstall and politeness Präbach, the new community will continue the name Egger village near Graz. This is based on the Styrian community structure reform law - StGsrG.

Geography

Geographical Location

Egger bei Graz is located about 10 km northeast of the provincial capital of Graz in the district of Graz-Umgebung in the Austrian province of Styria. Through the village flows the Rabnitzbach, a tributary of the Raab.

The municipality comprises the cadastral Edelsbach and Egger village.

Neighboring communities

History

Egger village goes back to a Roman period settlement. The later Slavic populated village was named " Egger village" by later German settlers. The local church as an autonomous body created in 1850. The municipality received a decision of the Styrian Landtag on July 4, 1928 the market right conferred. After the annexation of Austria in 1938, the community came to Reichsgau Styria, 1945-1955, she was part of the British zone of occupation in Austria. In 1962, the municipalities Edelsbach and Egger village were pooled to market town Egger village near Graz.

The coat of arms shows in 1979, awarded " a silver shield with a green sign head, side by side in two silver foliage crowns, in the lower panel bar-shaped two black harrows benches, one with four and the other ousted with three teeth. "

Traffic

The community itself is not located directly on one of the major roads, but they run some of it through the municipal area or nearby. The south motorway (A2 ) is accessible via the junction track Village West ( 161) in about 8 km. The track Straße (B 65) is only 2 km away from the town center, the Weiz Straße (B 72 ) 5 km and reachable via the neighboring Hart-Purgstall.

Egger village has no railway station. The nearest railway station is located in the village of track 9 km away. In track village is access to the Styrian Eastern Railway and the local railway track village Weiz. However, the main railway station in Graz is only about 15 km away.

Graz Airport is around 30 km away.
