Geographical Location

Egglham lies in the region Landshut about 16 km northeast of the county town parish churches, 18 km south-west of Vilshofen, 32 km north- west of Pocking and 40 km west of Passau. Egglham located on the edge of the Bavarian Tuscany ( lower red valley ), the monastery angle and the wood country in the typical low- Bavarian hills.

History

Egglham belonged to Rentamt Burghausen and the district court Vilshofen of the Electorate of Bavaria. The counts of Ortenbourg detectable since 1210 as the owner of property and rights advocacy in the area of Egglham, had an open Hofmark here. Culture and sights

The parish church of St. Stephen is a late Gothic choir tower plant. The nave was extended in 1771. The two side aisles formed 1860 until 1870.
