Egil Olsen

Egil Roger Olsen ( born April 22, 1942 in Fredrikstad ), nicknamed Drillo, is a Norwegian football coach and was until September 2013 coach of the Norwegian national team.

From 1990 to 1998 he already coached the Norwegian national team and led them to the finals of the World Championships in 1994 and 1998. Olsen 1999 became coach of FC Wimbledon in England, but was not even released just one year after. From 2005 to 2007 he worked as a consultant for Vålerenga Oslo. From September 2007 to February 2008, he was head coach of the Iraqi national team. As of January 2009, he took over a second time, the responsibility for the Norwegian selection after Åge Hareide had resigned because of lack of success. After Norway then in his first game as coach on February 11, 2009 in Dusseldorf Germany the same beat, and then headed the next two games to everyone's satisfaction, his contract was extended. On 27 September 2013, was replaced by Per -Mathias Høgmo as Norway coach. Overall, he was responsible for the Norwegian national team in his two terms of office in 135 official internationals and two unofficial games ( against the Danish league selection on 15 January 2012 and against the South Korean U-23 team 21 January 2012 at the King's Cup in Bangkok ) and so more often than any other Norwegian coach.

During his time in Olsen himself was a successful player. Olsen was a member of the Maoist Communist Workers' Party of Norway (ACP ).
