Egilsay

The Scotland's Orkney island belonging Egilsay located about 15 km north of Kirkwall and good one kilometers east of the island of Rousay on both islands, there is a regular ferry service.

The very flat and 6.5 km ² island has a length ( north-south) of just over 4 km with a width of 2 km. The approximately 40 inhabitants live primarily from livestock and fisheries.

About 20 % of the island today are the RSPB bird sanctuary - Royal Society for Protection of Birds. The structured into three sub-areas Wyre reserve the sole objective of conservation of a given species, the corncrake (Crex crex). R.S.P.B. reserves the right to restrict access to areas depending on the current situation.
