Egon Drews

Egon Drews (* June 1, 1926; † 13 January 2011) was a German canoeist from the Federal Republic of Germany. He took part in the 1952 and 1956 Olympic games and won two bronze medals.

Career

Drew came in 1952 along with the 14 years older Wilfried Soltau in a two - Canadians. After the two immediately awarded the German Cup over 1000 meters and 10,000 meters had won, they started at the Olympic Games in Helsinki on both tracks and each won the bronze medal. About 1000 meters, they brought five seconds adrift of second-placed canoeists from Czechoslovakia, but only 0.3 seconds ahead of the French. About 10,000 feet they were 18 seconds behind second-placed Canadians and six seconds ahead of fourth-placed canoeists from the Soviet Union.

1954 won Drews and Soltau bronze at the World Cup over 1000 meters. At the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 Drews went to over 1000 meters with Herbert Kirschner and difference in the flow of.
