Egyptian Mau

The Egyptian Mau is a dump breeding of cats shown in the historic wall paintings in Egypt. Body and face have a moderate form, the coat has a polka dot pattern. The original color is brownish.

Although early figures show the cat with wild -looking eyes, the Mau has large, almond-shaped eyes. With a top speed of about 50 km / h it is the fastest among domestic cats.

Formation

The exiled Russian Nathalie Troubetzkoj was so impressed by the spotted pattern of cats in Cairo that she took two cats to Italy and there mated with a hangover, which she received from the Syrian ambassador. In 1956 she went to America and registered in 1958 has built up with their breed under the name Fatima.
