EHC Freiburg

The EHC Freiburg is a German ice hockey team from Freiburg im Breisgau. In the 2002/03 season the first team of the EHC Freiburg eV was in the outsourced Wolves Hockey Event GmbH. History

The ice hockey and roller sports club Freiburg was founded on 30 January 1961, moved in 1971 for the first time in the higher class hockey on, as the Regional South -West was created. After just one season, however, the ERC moved the team back in 1973 and rose to Oberliga. In 1977 the club won the championship of the league and qualified for the second Hockey League, in 1978 even managed the ERC, the rise in the Hockey League. In the following years the team shuttled between Bundesliga and 2nd Bundesliga, where they could be 1980 and 1983 champion of the 2nd Bundesliga. However, in 1984, the club was forced to declare bankruptcy due to financial difficulties anghaltender.

The EHC Freiburg was founded on September 6, 1984 as the successor to the ERC and adopted on September 27, 1985 game mode for 1985/86 season with the first team in the 2nd Bundesliga South hockey on.
