The EHC Klostersee is a Southern Bavaria Hockey club from Grafing which still exists as one of the few in the club's own - plays stadium - not completely closed. The club was founded in 1957 and is active in the league since the 2002/ 03 season. The greatest successes of the EHC Klostersee were promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga in 1985, 1990 and 1994.

History

The EHC Klostersee was founded on July 1st 1957 in Grafing. The game started operations of the club in the season 1958/59 in the circle class, where you could reach the runner-up in the first year club. In 1962 a new constitution was created on a member meeting at which the club became a registered association. In the season 1963/64, the EHC Klostersee played for the ascent, but lost in the deciding game against the team of the Augsburger EV. At that time, nearly 6,000 spectators attended the game. A season later, the club was promoted to the group league and reached the end, the club shall qualify for the league, but this was not perceived due to a lack of suitable playing surface. In the following years, the EHC was able to win the championship of the Bavarian League twice.

After the construction of the ice rink in Grafing, in 1970, it was the goal in sports, climb to the Oberliga. At the end of the 1972/73 season the team was able to achieve promotion to the then third highest German league. This league was one of the EHC Klostersee twelve years before the first time you played in the season 1985/86 in the 2nd Bundesliga. From two years later it rose again in the league. In the 1999/00 season, the EHC had after a total of 26 years, for the first time again participate in the fourth division Regionalliga Süd. It was not until three seasons later, the re- promotion to the Oberliga. There, however, was reached in the first season after promotion, directly qualify for the play- offs, where they eventually failed in the quarter-finals with 1:2 games on EV Weiden.

After the 2005/ 06 season, the existence of the club due to the increased cost of operating the ice stadium was so endangered that the setting of the ice rink operation was in the room. By increased from Ebersberg district as of the city Grafing grants to support operating costs, this could be avoided.

Shortly before the start of the 2013/2014 season the Eisaufbereitungsanlage fell out and brought the club through the unplanned repair costs of approximately 80,000 EUR again in jeopardizing financial difficulties. The City Council decided that with only one vote against the acquisition of half the cost of the city Grafing.

Departments

In addition to the men's team in the league, the club takes the newcomers of all ages with some teams, including the ages of micro, students, small pupils, the boys, the student, youth and juniors. Since the 2012/13 season to take part in the Youth and Junior team at the respective Bundesliga and were both German vice-champion in 2013.

Venue

Thus, a separation between guest and home fans is not possible.

In 1983, the stadium was covered, so it still open on one side - is lower in contrast to other stages - but due to the roof construction. In order to finance the cost of the roof, the fans of the EHC Klostersee were involved. Thus, a block were the purchase of a ticket and a zuzüglichen impact of a DM, distributed to the respective fan. Over the years the art ice rink was modernized only sporadically. Thus, a new sound system (boxes) was installed by the community of interest Klostersee among others.
