Ehsan Aman

Ehsan Aman (* 1959 in Lashkar Gah, Afghanistan) is an Afghan singer.

Biography

Ehsan came in 1959 in Lashkar Gah in Helmand to the world. His father Mohammed Ibrahim Aman was an engineer. Ehsan had a great interest in music as a child. He learned to play the accordion. After his graduation, he got a scholarship to the University of Kabul. He was like his father to be an engineer.

Ehsans serious interest in music began at the University of Kabul. As a student he was in many performances there. Ehsans popularity began to rise. However, there were tensions between Ehsan and the media. Some of his songs were banned in Radio Kabul. To Ehsans earliest work includes the hit single Bute ' Daram, which he had already sung for relatives. This popularity led to national attention. He fled in 1981 to Pakistan. In October 1982, he fled to the United States. In 1985 he married his wife Sahar, who is the daughter of the late Afghan poet and composer Nainawaz. He is also a calligrapher.

Ehsan Aman also wrote for the film " The Kite Runner " a song.

Career

In 1983, he released his first album Musafer, which previously was followed by five more albums. However, he and his family loaded to adapt to a new country. In January 2002, he was commissioned by the Afghan Embassy in the U.S., the new national anthem to write. For the film The Kite Runner Ehsan Aman wrote the two titles " Omaid e Man" and " Dukhtare Darya ", which are represented on the official soundtrack and also played a small role ( himself as a wedding singer) in the film. In 2010 he recorded two tracks for the film The Black Tulip along with Natalie Cole. The film was Afghanistan's entry to the Academy Awards 2011.
