Ehsan Ghaem Maghami

Ehsan Ghaem Maghami (Persian احسان قائم مقامی; born August 11, 1982) is an Iranian chess player and the first Iranian chess grandmaster.

Ghaem Maghami conquered or occupied top positions in several tournaments: 2nd place in Pripis Memorial (2000), 2nd place in the tournament area of the zone 3.1a in Tehran (2001 ), 2nd place at the 11th Championship in Tehran, Iran (2001), 1st place in the Saipa Cup in Tehran (2003 ), 1st place in the tournament on the island of Kish (2003), 2nd place at Saipa Cup in Tehran ( 2004), 1st place in the tournament area of the zone 3.1 in Beirut (2004 ), 3rd place in the tournament in Kish (2005 ) and twice 1st place in the ZMD Open in Dresden (2007, 2008). The Iranian singles championship he won nine times so far: 1998, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011 for the Iranian national team he played since 2000, always on the first board in the Chess Olympiads. . In 2009 he played in Tehran a match against Anatoly Karpov four tournament games ( 1, = 2, -1 ), four rapid games ( 2, -2 ) and twelve blitz games ( 5 = 3, -4 ). In this match, the rule was that each game had to be played, so neither the task nor draw offers were allowed. Ghaem Maghami received in 2000 the title of International Master, since 2001 it bears the grandmaster title. He was the first Iranian chess player who was awarded the Grandmaster title. In the season 2010/11 the German Chess League, he plays for the Hamburger SK, the first was the season 2009/10.
