EI Niš

EI Niš ( Electronic Industry Niš ) is an electronics company in Serbia, located in the southern Serbian city of Nis.

The company was founded in 1948 for the production of radio and X-ray machines. Later, the production of the first Yugoslav televisions began. The period 1965-1980 is considered the most successful in the history of the company, EI Niš was the leading electronics companies in Yugoslavia. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, however, EI Niš fell into economic difficulties.

The disintegration of Yugoslavia and the associated loss of innerjugoslawischen sales market brought the company to the brink of bankruptcy, a bankruptcy could only be stopped by government subsidies. Since 2006, the company is located in the so called restructuring and privatization.
