The Eichelsbach is a good 18 km long left tributary of the Nidda or southeasterly.
Geography
Course
The Eichelsbach rises in the Vogelsberg, north of Hoherodskopfes and east of Scots - Breungeshain. It flows in Nidda - Eichelsdorf in the Nidda. Since the summer of 2009, a flood retention basin will be built by the Water Board NIDDA on Eichelsbach above Eichelsdorf ( transit bridge). This basin has a maximum storage capacity of 390,000 m³ and serves to protect the villages below the Eichelsbach and the Nidda.
