Eichwalde is a municipality and the district of Dahme -Spreewald in Brandenburg in Germany.

Geography

Eichwalde located directly on the southeastern outskirts of Berlin. The adjoining the north and east Berlin district is Schmoeckwitz. The southern neighboring community is Zeuthen, Western Schulz village.

The urban development goes on all sides seamlessly into the three neighboring communities. Eichwalde thus has no growth opportunities in the width. The north of Forest Road (which forms the border here ) lying Schmoeckwitz settlement can be reached from the rest of Berlin over just Eichwalder area. To the east of the township Eichwalde has a narrow access to Lake Zeuthen. There is a beach ( " Badewiese " ) and several boat launch.

Eichwalde is only 2.8 square kilometers, the area- smallest municipality in Brandenburg and the second highest population density behind the similarly structured oriented Glienicke / Northern Railway on the northern outskirts of Berlin. Among the more than 12,000 communities in Germany Eichwalde occupies the 29th place according to the population density. After an investigation of the märkische Allgemeine Zeitung in 2010 Eichwalde is also the town with the highest per capita income in the district of Dahme -Spreewald.

History

Was founded in the town on 20 March 1893 after which belongs to Schmoeckwitz Good Radeland was divided for settlers.

In addition, in 2007, the first student parliament of the community of students of the Humboldt High School and the Humboldt elementary school under the name of Children and Youth Parliament Eichwalde was ( briefly: KJP ) selected. With this project, which was among the first of its kind in the region, including young people and children to a participation in local events are made possible, including budget counseling.

Mayor

The Mayor of Oak wood is for a term of eight years of non-party Bernd spear. His term ends in January 2018.

The coat of arms was approved on 5 May 1995.

The Eichwalder coat of arms shows the 300 -year-old oak peace in the peace road.

Flag

The flag is in suspension on a cross of wood, with longitudinal stripes of green and gold ( yellow), and bears the arms of the municipality across in the middle.

Partner community

Eichwalde has a Polish partner community: Ośno Lubusz ( Drossen ) in the former Brandenburg Neumark. The town is located 85 km away from Eichwalde, northeast of the border town of Frankfurt ( Oder).

Museums

The Old Fire Station is the cultural center of the community. In the house, see the Cultural Advisory Council of the municipality of Oak wood, from club Happy Kids, the Friends eV Old Fire Station, organized by the home club exhibitions, concerts, readings and other artistic and cultural events take place.

Music

  • A world's only surviving Parabrahm organ in the Evangelical Church in 1908 created (Organ of the Protestant church in Eichwalde )
