Eiðis Bóltfelag

EB Eiði, completely Eiðis Bóltfelag ( "Ball Club of Eiði " ), abbreviated as EB, is a Faroese handball club based in Eiði on the island Eysturoy. The football department was united in 1993 with ÍF Streymur to EB / Streymur.

History

On February 24, 1913 Eiðis Bóltfelag was founded. The first chairman was Olivur Øster, Vice Knut Ellingsgaard, Treasurer Samuel Samuelsen, assessors Ole Olsen and Hans Jacob Joensen. At the meeting it was decided to land the north side of the Isthmus of Eiði, for six crowns to rent on the Molin (á Molini ) a year to play football there.

On October 10, 1914, decided to build a proper football pitch on the Molin. Each member undertook voluntary work for ten days on the course.

1916 a match against ÍF Fuglafjørður was held, each team had nine players. On October 27, 1929, there was a game against KÍ Klaksvík.

On February 23, 1937, decided that women are allowed to use the space when he was not being used.

In 1944 the ladies were left women's handball team from EB. The Board consisted of three women.

In 1962, the rowing club and the Table Tennis Association of Eiði parts of the EB. On April 15, 1962 EB participated in the parade for Flaggtag of the Faroe Islands. Vorneweg marched the rowers below the soccer players, handball players behind them, two women's handball team and finally the scouts came.

On September 16, a new football field was inaugurated on Molin. Present were the Minister Sámal Petersen and the Danish Governor Mogens choice. EB 2005 had seven handball teams in the league.

Handball

Already in 1947, managed the women's team of EB Eiði the first and only championship in handball. 2012 men reached the second place in Group 2 of the third division, the women, however, presented no team.
