Eike Onnen

Eike Onnen ( born August 3, 1982 in Hanover ) is a German high jumper.

In 2003 he became German Junior Champion and fifth in the U-23 European Championships. In 2004, he was injured at the German Indoor Championships the foot and had to take a year off. In 2005 and 2006 he became German champion in 2007 German indoor champion.

His first success at the international level, he celebrated when he won the European Cup in 2007 with skipped 2.30 m. At the World Championships in Osaka Onnen landed in seventh place. From the same year comes his personal best (2.34 m, May 20, 2007 Garbsen ). In 2008 he was for the second time German indoor champion. He qualified for the Olympic Games in Beijing, had to start but cancel due to foot problems in the short term.

The following year, Onnen was again German masters. In 2011 he participated in the World Championships in Daegu part and reached number 15 in 2012 he won for the fourth time at the German Championships, the European Championships in Helsinki, he came in tenth.

Eike Onnen weighs 83 kg at a height of 1.94 m. He is the son of former long jumper Astrid Frede Bold- Onnen ( b. 1956 ), of which he is also trained. He starts for the LG Hannover.

Since 2012, he completed a bachelor's program at the Police Academy in Lower Saxony Nienburg / Weser.
