Eimeldingen is a municipality in the district of Lörrach in Baden- Württemberg. The municipality Eimeldingen except the homonymous village There are no other villages. The town is a member of Gemeindeverwaltungsverband Front Kander based in Binzen.

Geography

Geographical Location

Eimeldingen is located in the extreme southwest of Germany, about two kilometers from the French and about eight kilometers from the Swiss border.

Neighboring communities

The municipality is bordered to the north by Efringen churches and fish Ingen, to the east by Binzen and on the south by the town of Weil am Rhein.

The nearest large towns are next to Weil am Rhein Lörrach and Basel.

History

Eimeldingen was first mentioned in 767 as " Agimotingas " documentary.

Religions

Since the Reformation Eimeldingen is dominated Protestant. Even today there are only Protestant churches in the town. The few Catholics are served by Weil am Rhein.

Mayor

On 30 November 2008, the Schluchseer Mayor Manfred Merstetter was elected with 52.36 percent of the vote for new mayor of Eimeldingen. He replaced Hans Jörg Rupp, who resigned after the expiration of his second term in office retired and did not run.

Coat of arms

Blazon: In split- front plate in gold, a red oblique beams, later in split box at the top of a golden sheaf of blue, silver down in a green grape.

The gold - red front half refers to the membership of Baden, the sheaf on cultivation and the vine to the wine, both major industries in the town.

The oldest part of the Evangelical Church Eimeldingen are from 1450; their origins can be traced back to the 8th century.

Economy and infrastructure

Traffic

The community is 98 ( Weil am Rhein- Stockach ) well connected with the junction Eimeldingen the motorway to the motorway network. Through the town also carries the federal highway 3 ( Buxtehude Weil am Rhein). The Eimeldingen station is located on the Rhine Valley Railway ( Offenburg- Basel).

In Eimeldingen there are also three bus stops that are regularly served by buses of the regional transport network Lörrach.

Education

Eimeldingen has its own primary school and one each municipal and evangelical kindergarten.
