A case for B.A.R.Z. is a German children's and youth television series. It was produced from 2005 to 2007; more episodes are planned. "A Case for BARZ " is an ARD co-production under the auspices of the SWR.

Action

The four-member gang detective to Barth, Anja, Ron and list - in short: BARZ - Taking care of all crimes that happen in their hometown, the wine town of Fellbach near Stuttgart. Barth is characterized by power, logical thinking and perseverance, while Anja is known for her wit, wisdom and stubbornness. Ron comes up with a huge computer and technology knowledge, List, Barth's younger brother, is responsible for the accurate observation and listing of the evidence. Their headquarters is the guardian tower in the vineyards, where they also usually determine on your own. If help is needed, them is the retired chief inspector Schuster with advice and act to the side, but also the parents of the Birkenstock brothers are a great support.

Characters

Bartholomew " Barth " Birkenstock

Barth is the leader of the gang detective and tracked every little track to solve a case. Together with his younger brother, he lives on the idyllic estate of the parents in Fellbach. The twelve- year old will be supported by his parents much in the investigation, as they know that they can rely on it completely. After Barth was in South Africa have been several weeks with relatives on vacation, he immediately wants to go back there and persuaded his parents in episode 30 " Fair Play ", finally, to let him fly. Thus he leaves the detective team.

Anja Westermann

Anja is responsible for accuracy of the detective work and the harmony in the group. Since her parents as engineers are currently in New Zealand on the go, the twelve- year-old lives with her older sister Christina in the wellness hotel Schlossle, which belonged to her aunt Fanny. A real family life not experienced Anja so, but some guests are good material for their detective work.

Ron Steiger

Ron is a computer freak and always equipped with the latest achievements of technology industry. Even the parents of twelve year olds are constantly traveling on business trips, so have to play that Birkenstock family and Anya's aunt Fanny surrogate parents. Due to his poor academic performance, he must always anxious to be put to boarding school by his parents. This happens also in the first episode of season 3.

Benjamin " List " Birkenstock

The younger brother Birkenstock wrote down all the important clues and information on a piece of paper, hence his nickname. The ten- year-old does not talk much, but manages due to its good observation nonetheless, to provide important information and often the right time to be in the right place.

Melanie " Bina " Becker

She appears in the first season first as a minor character and those affected in one case. She falls in love seemingly in list. At the end of the second season they eventually moved with her mother to Fellbach, where she met their new friend. And the son of this happens to be Roberto, whom she already knows from school. In the episode " Treasure Hunt " Melanie puts an alias to, which would henceforth be her nickname: " Bi ( e) na Meckerle ", an anagram of their name.

Roberto Scheffler

Roberto first appeared in the episode " squirrel nightmare " on, in which he already plays a central role: He is suspected to terrorize the French teacher. After his innocence is proven, wants to introduce him to his new friend Roberto's father. And this is just Melanie's mother. In the blended family, there are indeed some problems in the beginning, but eventually, the situation for the better and Roberto used is an official member of BARZ

Production

The first season of the series (13 episodes ) was filmed in and around Stuttgart from 29 March to 14 August 2005. Five more episodes were produced from October 10 to November 30, 2005, the remaining eight from 4 April to 7 July 2006. From March 22 to August 20, 2007, produced the third season, a further 13 episodes. Season three ran until March 2008 at Tigerentenclub in the ARD In the third season the characters Barth and Ron by the neuhinzukommenden Melanie " Bina " and Roberto to be replaced.
