EINECS number

The EINECS ( European Inventory of Existing Commercial Chemical Substances) is the Existing Chemical Substances ( waste materials) of the EU.

Description

This list contains about 100,000 entries substance. In this list all substances were added, which were at the time of the introduction of the obligation to investigate for the potential hazard of chemical substances on the market. The substances, which are recorded in the European Inventory of Existing Commercial Chemical Substances were identified by a seven digit number in the format XXX -XXX -X. The list starts at 200-001-8 (formaldehyde ).

These materials were initially excluded from a hazard identification in terms of new materials. In this way it was achieved that the already existing substances had not all be registered in one fell swoop in accordance with the provisions of the Chemicals Act.

This registration process for new substances ( new substances ) contains extensive testing for potential danger, including the classification to be fitted with warning symbols and / or R / S sentences.

The EINECS number means substances both in its anhydrous form and in its hydrated form, while there are frequently different CAS numbers. Polymers did not have to be reported in EINECS. They are considered listed when the monomers from which they are made, are listed on EINECS. After a rules change, the prestigious fabrics made various previously reportable as polymers, a third list for no- longer polymers (NLP ) has been established.
