The railways and transport companies Elbe -Weser GmbH ( evb ) is a transport company in the Elbe- Weser triangle known part of Lower Saxony, based in Zeven in the building of the railway station Zeven South. Railway operations of the operating also as a railway company company has its headquarters in Bremervörde.

Operation

Bus

The evb operates 32 bus routes in public transport of the counties Rotenburg ( Wümme), Stade, Easter wood, Harburg and the city of Bremen.

Rail traffic

The evb operates the rail transport on the railway line between Bremerhaven and Bremerhaven - Buxtehude Buxtehude ( about Harsefeld ) ( KBS 122). Due to the introduction of the metronome on the Lower Elbe Bahn Hamburg - Cuxhaven and the extension of the Hamburg S -Bahn line S3 to Stade today Buxtehude interchange. Together with Deutsche Bahn entertained the EVB railway Bremerhaven - Cuxhaven with the name Nordseebahn. Since the timetable change in December 2011, she is solely responsible for the rail transport here. As a tourist attraction the Moorexpress is known. The historic railcar that runs between Bremen and Stade is also operated by the evb. In addition, the evb is engaged in freight transport at its own route network. Through the acquisition of a majority in the Mittelweserbahn the evb expanded especially the seaport hinterland transport throughout Germany and neighboring countries.

Route network

As a railway infrastructure company the evb has a 261 km long route network, which consists of single-track branch lines, which are operated in train control. The following routes including:

  • Bremerhaven - Bremervörde - Harsefeld Buxtehude
  • Bremervörde - Osterholz- Beck Ost
  • Bremervörde -Rotenburg (Wümme )
  • Bremervörde -Stade
  • Wilstedt - Zeven - Tostedt The section Wilstedt - Zeven is sold and used as a tourist trolley route.
  • ( The route Bremervörde - Harsefeld Buxtehude is now signaled and is operated with Zugmeldeverfahren )

The route of Harsefeld after Coquille is degraded since 2006. What began with the separation from the main track in Harsefeld in 2004 by the construction of a new compound curve in Harsefeld, now is consistently followed by the degradation of the remaining distance. Already five-kilometer distance between track Harsefeld and Beckendorf were removed. Has also commenced with the removal of the tracks between Rotenburg and Brockel 2007. So already the junction points was removed in Rotenburg, in Brockel station of the railway tracks has also begun to reduce.

History

The evb is on 1 January 1981 from the Bremervörde Easter Holzer Eisenbahn GmbH (BOE, 48 line kilometers ) and the Wilstedt - Zeven - Tostedt Eisenbahn GmbH ( WZTE, 63.5 kilometer ) emerged. 1991, formerly operated by the German Federal Railroad branch lines came in the triangle between Bremerhaven, Bremen and Hamburg ( the so-called " Wet Triangle" ) is added: the still existing remains of the former railway line Bremervörde Walsrode, the routes Bremerhaven -Buchholz and Hesedorf -Stade. They made the evb now with 286 kilometers of track to become the second largest private railway to the Osthannoverschen Railways ( OHE ). 1993 merged with the evb Buxtehude Harsefelder railroad.

The passenger traffic on the route Bremerhaven -Stade was initially operated with used rail buses, but the evb soon received some railcars of Class 628.4, found their use from 1993 to the newly established line Bremerhaven -Hamburg- Neugraben, persons traveling between Bremervörde and Stade was adjusted.

Since 14 December 2003, the evb (DB AG) operates on behalf of Deutsche Bahn also under the name " Nordseebahn " the distance between Bremerhaven and Cuxhaven with railcars Coradia LINT.

In 2005, the bus company of Ahrentschildt from Lilienthal was acquired by evb.

In the years 2000 to 2003, the freight was severely restricted on the track and on some routes (eg Wilstedt - Zeven - Tostedt and Rotenburg ( Wümme ) Brockel ) set almost completely; since then the evb focused on the transport of passengers between Cuxhaven, Bremerhaven, Bremervörde, Buxtehude and Hamburg as well as the transport of goods in containers between Hamburg, Bremen and Bremerhaven. In cooperation with other companies, freight trains are led to southern Germany.

On its own railway lines provides the evb besides the operating plan also transport museum with historic railcar on. An example of this is the Moorexpress Stade via Bremervörde to Osterholz- Beck. Since April 29, 2006, you can go through with it even to Bremen.

The evb is involved with the Hamburg High Bahn AG, Bremen tram AG and the OHE on the metronome in Uelzen, using the regional express trains on the routes Bremen -Hamburg, Hamburg- Uelzen Uelzen, Hanover and Göttingen and Hamburg- Cuxhaven and since the end of 2007 also regional trains on the lines Hamburg- Tostedt and Hamburg- Lüneburg.

On 20 September 2010, the evb has taken over the majority of the active in rail freight Mittelweserbahn (MET). The remaining shares are taken August 31, 2013 by evb.

The evb is a member of the collective organization of the federal treasury and non-federally owned railways in Germany ( TBNE ).

Rolling stock

For passenger transport, the evb besides older railcar has two Uerdinger railbuses with sidecar. From the country's transport company Niedersachsen she has also hired nine railcars LINT 41. Three identical with the DB Class 628 railcars were sold to the North Western Railway to operate on the RB 43 in NRW.

In freight transport include six former 211, a 219, a MaK G1206, three MaK G 1000, a MaK G 700 C, Mak G 500 C, a Köf III and four Siemens ER 20 in use. Currently also have been rented six F140 AC2 Rail pool.

For passenger transport (eg between Zeven and Bremen) uses the evb buses from Mercedes- Benz and Setra, including Setra S 319NF and Mercedes- Benz Citaro.
