The Eisenerzer rich stone is a mountain in the Alps in the Austrian province of Styria Eisenerzer. It is located south of the Erzberg iron ore.

Topography

The highest elevation of the Eisenerzer rich stone is the north-east summit with a height of 2165 meters. A. 270 meters southwest of the summit is on a knoll the rich stone hut ( 2136 m) of section Leoben the Austrian Alpine Club. From here draws an approximately 250 meters wide and 500 meters long plateau in south-west, at the end there is a further elevation ( 2143 m).

Other side peaks are north of the knight (1855 m). To the northeast and southeast of the rich stone main summit are the Grüblzinken (1990 m), which is separated by the Rottörl of the rich stone, and the Vordernberger tines. In the Austrian map only the lower East summit (1971 m) is the Vordernberger tines listed, but which is dominated by the North West peak by at least 30 meters. The ridge west of the rich stone bears the surveys Hieflerkogel, Hocheller and High Lins ( 2028 m). In a boiler south of the rich stone is the small Krumpensee ( 1416 m).

Ways

The shortest way to the Eisenerzer rich stone leads from Praebichl over the knight's neck in about two and a half hours to the summit. A piece above the knight's neck, you can decide whether the normal route, the Thekla trail follows an abbreviation or a steeper path and a ladder staircase takes.

From the Hirnalm at Trofaiach Grete - Klinger -Steig over the front wall Berger, the Berger front tines and the Grüblzinken passes up to the Rottörl. This route offers a combination of a long ridge walk with moderately difficult via ferrata passages .. It is named after the riser died in 1972 Grete Klinger in memory of their achievements in the work of the Alpine Club. The rich stone is also the starting point of a very long ridge hike, about 40 kilometers long leads from Eisenerzer rich stone to Mödlinger hut at the foot of Admonter rich stone.

Ski touring

The Eisenerzer rich stone and its side peaks offer numerous opportunities for skiing, but requiring avalanche safe conditions, this is especially true of the climbs from Praebichl. You can ski among others, the rich stone necklace, which is the saddle between the South Summit and the Hieflerkogel, for Krumpensee. Must Coming back from here to take Praebichl 400 meters ascent to Rottörl in buying one, however. A very challenging descent provides the descent from the rich stone by the Red channel.

Geology

The Eisenerzer rich stone belongs to the greywacke zone and consists of Paleozoic rocks. The mountain is composed largely of Devonian limestones.
