Eisenhut (mountain)

Aconite is with a height of 2441 m above sea level. A. the highest mountain in the Alps Gurktaler. It is located northeast of the Turracherhöhe, its summit is near the border between the three Austrian provinces of Salzburg, Styria and Carinthia.

The name of the mountain stems from iron mining, which was operated here in early times ( cf. mining in Carinthia ), of which a mining museum in the nearby town of Turrach testifies.

The Eisenhut is also dedicated to a verse of the Carinthian song.
