Eisley
Eisley is a rock band from Tyler, Texas. It consists of the four siblings Chauntelle, Sherri, Stacy, and Weston DuPree and their cousin Garron DuPree. You describe yourself as a melodic indie - rock band.
Band History
According to information provided by the band formed in 1997. Between 1998 and 2002 she had first gigs in local pubs and cafes. The parents of the four siblings support the band by making the group to the house band of their Brewtones Coffee Galaxy. There they played together with ester urge Midlake, Waterdeep and other locally known groups.
After Eisley could make a name in Dallas, they were invited to audition in New York and Los Angeles. In 2003, she received a record deal with Warner Bros. Records. Also in 2003, they were honored at the Dallas Observer Music Awards for Best New Artist.
At this time, the group had agreed on the name Eisley. Originally they had been named after a space city from the Star Wars films called Mos Eisley. However, since this legal problems brought with it, the name was shortened to the current band name.
With the song Telescope Eyes, the group had further success. For this song, as well as to Marvelous Things, I Was not Prepared, Memories and invasion even music videos were produced.
In addition to the four siblings Chauntelle ( lead guitar ), Sherri ( keyboards and vocals ), Stacy (guitar and vocals), and Weston (drums) DuPree first played Amy Whittaker bass. However, he was already replaced in 1998 by Taylor Muse. This left the band again in 2001 because he wanted to concentrate on other projects. Jonathan Wilson, a friend of the band, replaced him. This remained until 2005, and even played bass on tour with Hot Hot Heat with. Currently, the bass is busy with his cousin Garron DuPree siblings. 2005, he was just 15 years old.
