The ice rink Glacier, is the northernmost ice rink in Germany. It is located in Harrislee copper mill in the historic Old Customs Street, about 1 km from the German -Danish border crossing Krusau away north of Flensburg. The ice rink is part of the Hotel of the North and is since 2003 part of the Fleggaard Group.

Description

The ice rink was built in 1983 and is generally open during the period from November 1st to April 1st. The hall is roofed, but open to the north. This is not a closed ice rink. The hall is theoretically for various ice types, but not for curling. The proximity to the border also allows many Danes a visit to the ice rink.

Use

Is used the hall primarily of ice skaters. This offer is valid for everyone, there is a separate skate rental. From 1985 to 2004, the Flensburg EC ( Hockey ) wore their home games at the ice rink Glacier. Curling is also exercised in the Glacier Hall. Currently hockey is only played in the hobby operating in the glacier Halltestelle. The so-called Aggewars - - Every year, also an invitational tournament for curling teams was from Schleswig -Holstein aligned. Other sports such as speed skating or figure skating, do not exist in space Flensburg. At events like hockey games or curling tournaments, the ice rink offers about 300 spectators.
