Ekaterina Karsten

Ekaterina Karsten, born Chadatowitsch ( born June 2, 1972 in Assetschyna, Minsk Woblasz ) is a German - Belarusian rowing athlete. She comes and starts for Belarus, is married to a German and lives and trains since 1996 continuously in Germany, first in Potsdam and in recent years in Cologne, where she is also resident.

Karsten is one of the most cherished one female riders in the world - she was beaten rarely and only by Rumjana Nejkowa, Katrin Rutschow - Stomporowski and Mirka Knapkova.

She won the Olympic Games in 1996 and 2000. Athens in 2004, she had to be content with a silver medal in Beijing in 2008 with a bronze medal.
