Eke Uzoma

Eke Uzoma ( born August 11, 1989 in Lagos, Nigeria) is a Nigerian football player. The defensive midfielder was four times for the SC Freiburg in the Bundesliga for use. In the 2nd Bundesliga he played for SC Freiburg, TSV 1860 Munich and Arminia Bielefeld 68 games.

Career

Youth in Nigeria and Freiburg

In his native Nigeria Uzoma played at Eleme United. At 15, he moved to Germany, where he found himself after a short time in a hostel for asylum seekers in garbage home. His guardian recognized his footballing talent and helped him to get a game license for the B- youth of the county division Alemannia garbage home. In December 2005, he joined the football school of SC Freiburg, where he first played as a striker. By the time Uzoma was always later used, after some games contested as playmaker, he eventually played in defensive midfield.

Beginnings in professional football

As were the Freiburg professional team in September 2007 for a training game to little players available, the vacancies have been filled with some A- youth players. We are satisfied Uzoma coach Robin Dutt so that the summoned him for the upcoming second league match against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in the starting grid. Uzomas performance in the 3-2 win against Hoffenheim resulted in a long-term professional contract and the choice in the " football team of the day ." His first Zweitligator he scored three weeks later in Cologne, the long-range shot was chosen by the spectators of sports show on the "Gate of the Week". During the winter break of 2007/ 08 the kicker sports magazine as the third- best defensive Uzoma led midfielders in the Bundesliga second behind Daniel Gunkel and Patrick Paauwe. In addition to Ivica Banović Uzoma remained in defensive midfield in the following months starting player, the targeted promotion missed the sport club to rank 5 lying. Also the final of the German A Youth Championship 2008 missed Uzoma: after he repeatedly appeared late for training, he was dropped from the final squad.

At the beginning of the second division season 2008/ 09 was Uzoma to the permanent staff of the Breisgau, lost this place but the year back to Johannes Flum and Julian Schuster. At the end of the season as second division champions Freiburg climbed on to the 1st Bundesliga, Uzoma had completed a total of 50 second division games for Freiburg up to this point. In summer 2009, Uzoma received an invitation from the Nigerian Football Federation. He trained briefly with the U-20 team of Nigeria before he was pulled up to the A team. Since he however injured, he could not be used in the upcoming internationals. This injury was also at SC Freiburg a setback for him, Uzoma was in his first Bundesliga season only reserve player. Until the winter break he came up four short assignments. By the first of these brief appearances, 24 October 2009, he became the player used in the Bundesliga 5000th.

Transfer to Munich

For the second half of the season 2009/10 he was loaned to second division side TSV 1860 Munich, for which he ran aground six times. An agreed purchase option left the Sechzger elapse end of the season though, at the beginning of the new season was agreed, however, with SC Freiburg on a free transfer free transfer to Munich. Uzoma signed a two -year contract. In the first half of the season 2010/11 was only used in the first two games of the season. For the second round, he was loaned out to league rivals Arminia Bielefeld, where he ten times was used. In April 2011, he received an invitation to the Nigerian U-23 selection for the Olympiaqualfikationsspiel against Equatorial Guinea, but had to cancel his participation due to injury.

In summer 2011, Uzoma returned to Munich. As coach Reiner Maurer but not planned with him, since he trained with the Regional team of lions, for which he was not allowed to play but as Nigerians. After he remained during the whole season without use, he left the 1860 in the summer of 2012. He described the time in Munich as a " test from God ".

Fresh start in Hungary

In mid-July 2012, wrote Uzoma then a two-year contract with an option for a further year at the Hungarian first division Pécsi Mecsek FC.

SV Sandhausen

During the winter break of the 2013/14 season he returned to Germany and signed for second division side SV Sandhausen a contract until June 2014.
