Ekstra Bladet

Ekstra Bladet is a Danish tabloid newspaper founded in 1904. As to their meaning and scope, the newspaper is the Danish equivalent of the image, but clearly includes a common output more pages than its German counterpart.

The history of the newspaper started in February 1904 as special edition of the Politiken newspaper on the occasion of the Russo -Japanese War of 1904 until 1905. Firstly actual tabloid Denmark competes the newspaper since 1916 with Denmark's second major tabloid BT

Its highest circulation reached the tabloid in 1978 with 249,000 copies. Since the advent of the Internet and the advent of many free newspapers in the 1990s, the newspaper is no longer just competing with BT, but also with the biggest free newspapers in Denmark as the Metro Xpress ( publisher Metro International, since 2001) and Urban ( 2001 to 2012 ). So Ekstra Bladet reached in July 2011, an average circulation of 73 812 and thus fell for the first time after BT back.

With the slogan TOR used since 1964, hvor other animal! ( Traut is where others are silent ) is understood as uncovering the newspaper organ, but their lack of credibility is often accused of. In particular, the writer Klaus Rifbjerg has always been critical to the newspaper.
