El Cerro del Aripo

The Cerro del Aripo is 940 m above sea level, the highest point in Trinidad and Tobago. He belongs to the Northern Range, an establishment located in the north of Trinidad Mountains. This can be achieved the summit of the small mountain village of Aripo, is spoken in the still partially patois.

The Pawi (Trinidad Piping - guan ), an endemic Galliformes, is here in the dense rainforest home. In large limestone caves below the summit plateau thousands of nocturnal birds oil, the day staying in the caves at night and feed on live tropical fruits.
