El Hadj M'Hamed El Anka

El Hajj Muhammad El Anka, actually Ayet Oraab Muhammed Idir ( born May 20, 1907 in Algiers, † November 23, 1978 ) was an Algerian singer and composer of Chaâbi music.

Life

His family is from Tizi Ouzou. Since 1925 he plays on the oud and has written more than 350 songs. He spent five years studying music at the Musikhochschule Sidi Abderahman.
